I really really like Pavement. From what I can tell, they haven’t had a major event since 1999 at the Glastonbury Festival. However, 2009 would be the 10-year anniversary of their last show- reunion tour? I sure hope so.

I would peg Pavement as pure indie. They toured and released several albums without the backing of a major label. They were around throughout the 90’s and there music is still potent a decade later. I love that they can make great indie rock without taking themselves too seriously. I mean, they did a song for Schoolhouse Rock, can you get any cooler than that? I submit that you cannot!
